Mr. Robert Morgan
Head Master Engraver.
Mr. Morgan began working for Henderson N. White in
1937. After completing his apprenticeship and years of
engraving, he replaced
Mr. Kramer as Head Master Engraver. Mr.Morgan
engraved many instruments manufactured and completed
custom engraving for many legendary musicians to
include;
Harry James, Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker,
J.J. Johnson, Wild Bill Davison, Cannonbal Adderley, Nat
Adderley, Jack Teagarden, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmy
Dorsey, and many others. Mr. Morgan retired in the mid
1980's.
Mr. Austin Kramer was born in Germany in 1893.
Mr. Kramer obtained his citizenship in 1916 and at
that time began working for Henderson N. White as
Master Engraver. Mr. Kramer was married to
Ester G. Kramer, born in 1898, also in Germany.
In 1937, Mr. Kramer was still the Head engraver.
At that time, the engraving department consisted of
ten engravers. Mr. Kramer engraved many models and
personally engraved the Miniature Liberty trumpets
and majority of Naked Ladies on instruments.
