The Cleveland Musical Instrument company was founded in 1919 and employed 15 workers. In 1924, the H. N. White
company manufactured instruments for the Cleveland Musical Instrument company to fill their back orders. The
Cleveland Musical Instrument company was known for their Gladiator line of instruments. In 1925, the H. N. White
company purchased the Cleveland Musical Instrument company. In 1937, the H. N. White company began
manufacturing the Gladiator line of instruments (starting with the Gladiator trombone) to meet the growing demand for
low cost good quality band instruments. The quality of tone and construction is hard to beat for such a low cost
instrument.
