KING SMALL BORE
Manufactured from 1898 until 1918.
"Beautiful model, elegant in design, perfect proportion, length 19 in., diameter of bell
4 1/2". It has the true trumpet tone, brilliant and penetrating, easy blowing, good in
tune, and the lightest valve action. All tones come free and clear, whether from the
lowest or the highest register. Correct balance, easy to hold. Built in either high or low
pitch with quick change to A. Each high pitch trumpet having an extra low pitch slide."

The KING Small Bore trumpet was available in the following Finish options:

215....Brass, highly polished
216....Triple silver plated, satin finish, burnished bell and points.
217....Triple silver plated, satin finish, burnished points, gold lined bell
218....Triple silver plated, satin finish, gold bell and trimmings
220....Quadruple gold plated, satin finish, burnished points.
The KING Small Bore trumpet was the first trumpet manufactured by H. N. White
and was replaced in 1918 by the
MASTER model trumpet.
The 1898 KING Small Bore trumpet as
well as the early 1898 KING cornet
models, are stamped with a Lion's head
above

Lion's head stampings are also found on
early model H. N. WHITE trombones with
three different designs used by the
engravers.

of the Lion Head.
Lion Head's were found on
trumpets and cornets
with serial numbers below the 11000 series.
If you have a
trumpet or cornet bearing a Lion's
Head in the serial number series above 11000,
please contact us!
Vintage King trombones often
bear the Lion's head with six digit serial
numbers.
Note the curved main tuning brace on this
KING Small Bore trumpet. This trumpets
serial number range is 14xxx.
Modifications to the bracing occurred
towards the end of production for this
model.
