| The CAVALRY cornet was advertised as the Military Model in 1919. This cornet was designed to allow the player to play with one hand while directing with the other. The cornet has a quick change to A slide around valves below the first valve slide, extra tuning slide, with high and low pitch slides leading from the third valve. The CAVALRY was manufactured in high or low pitch. Each high pitch cornet was furnished with a full set of low pitch slides. The CAVALRY was designed by H.N.White. CAVALRY specs: Bore..0.448, bell diameter 4 1/2", weight in brass 36 oz., weight in silver plate 37 oz. Length in high pitch 14 1/2". Length in low pitch 15 1/2".Triple tongue valve guides and Crystal silver valve pistons. Top sprung valve springs were constructed of phosphor bronze wire barrel shaped and recessed into a cup socket at each end to reduce friction. No. 800 Brass, highly polished. No. 801 Triple silver plated, satin finish, gold lined bell. No. 802 Triple silver plated, satin finish, gold lined bell and trim. No. 803 Quadruple gold plated, sand blast, burnished bell and points. Hand burnished entire cornet extra. |
