"The Eb Cornet is built in a long artistic model
that balances nicely in the hand. The proportions
have been carefully designed to produce an
instrument of fine tone quality and in perfect
tune. It speaks easily without an effort over it's
entire compass"

The 1924 and 1938 King catalogs depict a single brace
on the main tuning slide although the vast majority of
1920's and early 1930 Eb King cornet's have the double
crescent style brace.
"Developed along trumpet lines, this King cornet is an easy
to play instrument of thoroughly fine quality."

Eb Cornets were very popular in 1885 brass bands. In the early 1900's, Eb cornets began to lose popularity. They are
now used to facilitate the difficult high passages encountered in baroque compositions and enhance high range security.
