"The SILVER FLAIR
is extremely light in
weight and features a
first valve trigger as
standard equipment.
The bell section is
extremely thin to
provide quick response
with a minimum of
effort. An all around

H. N. WHITE CO. manufactured the SILVER FLAIR  from 1964 to 1965. After 1965 the SILVER
FLAIR was manufactured by King Musical Instruments and later by United Musical Instruments.
SILVER FLAIR trumpet specs: Bore .462", bell diameter 4 3/4". Main
tuning bow is precision formed to provide a true bore dimension. Solid
nickel silver slides are honed, ground and hand fitted. Valve pistons are
made of solid nickel silver tubing with air passages lining of ductile red
brass. Pistons are hard nickel plated and honed to tolerances of .0009
inches between the pistons and valve casing. The micro tru valve process
holds oil longer and assures the player of smooth, silent valve action.
Patented single tongue valve guides precision formed of high quality brass.
Aluminum finger buttons and valve stems are used to achieve remarkably
light valve action, a weight savings of one fourth ounce per valve. First
valve trigger spring allows the player to remove the first valve slide without
disassembling the trigger mechanism. The extra wide trigger spatula is
contoured for maximum player comfort. One piece spacer braces are made
without soldering or brazing, thus contributing to lighter weight. Water
keys assemblies, and lyre socket and screw are mounted on a large flange
plate for maximum durability. Inside tubes of the main tuning slide are
made of solid nickel silver precision honed and hand ground.

"Some days you get up and put the horn to
your chops  and it sounds  pretty good and
you win. Some days you try and nothing
works and the horn wins. This goes on
and on and then you die and the horn wins."
